Host Esra Erol's response to a guest's statement in her program, "A finger cut by Sharia does not hurt," with "Sharia is not here, it's in the Middle East," has caused a major stir on social media and in political circles. These words, applauded by some viewers in the studio, quickly became a trending topic.
HÜDA PAR Gaziantep Deputy Şehzade Demir, via social media, addressed ATV management, questioning why Esra Erol's program is still airing. Demir asked, "Despite all the reactions and attacks on our values, why does ATV management insist on keeping Esra Erol on television and allowing these obscenities? Is it about ratings?" He further expressed his strong disapproval, asking, "When will Esra Erol's program be canceled, and when will this woman be fired from television?"
Büyük Birlik Partisi (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici also reacted to the issue, stating that Sharia means Islam, the Quran, and justice. Destici posed the question, "How can someone who openly belittles our faith and values still be able to host a program on a channel reportedly receiving unlimited support from the government and the state?" His remarks effectively called for the program's cessation.
Esra Erol's Sharia comments rapidly spread across social media platforms, sparking widespread discussions. Users with various viewpoints voiced their reactions. The involvement of politicians in this debate further amplified the issue's significance.
