Ankaralı Turgut's Willful Battle: Inheritance Lawsuit Concludes

Following the passing of folk singer Ankaralı Turgut in 2024, a significant legal process concerning his remaining inheritance and the funds collected during his treatment has come to a conclusion. Shortly before his death, the artist disowned four of his children, and the complex lawsuit among his heirs has now been settled by court order.

The 18 Million TL Claim and the Realities

Prior to Ankaralı Turgut's death, a fundraising night was organized for his lung cancer treatment, and it was claimed that 18 million TL was collected. The four children disowned by the artist filed a lawsuit demanding their share of this money. However, the court proceedings revealed that the actual amount collected was not as high as claimed. Following investigations, it was determined that the funds raised at the fundraising night amounted to approximately 250,000 TL.

Daughter Eylem Boran's Statements

Ankaralı Turgut's daughter, Eylem Boran, made statements regarding the lawsuit and her father's will. Boran refuted allegations that she had spent the money collected for her father's treatment, stating that she had fulfilled her father's will and won the case. Boran further stated that her father left her honor, dignity, pride, and a debt of 300,000 TL as his inheritance. This situation highlights that the collected funds were not a substantial amount as claimed and that her father even left behind debt.

The Artist's Will and Legacy

In an interview years ago, Ankaralı Turgut stated that he had no worldly possessions left and that his only inheritance was his saz (a Turkish stringed instrument), which he wished to be placed in a museum in Ankara. This will underscores the artist's perspective on material possessions and his emphasis on spiritual values. With the conclusion of the inheritance lawsuit, the details of the legal and spiritual legacy left by Ankaralı Turgut have become clearer.
