NOW's highly anticipated drama, 'Halef: The Call of Roots', produced by Gül Oğuz and by Most Production, welcomes the esteemed actor Uğur Yücel. Yücel, whose guest appearance was previously announced, has for the first time shared the behind-the-scenes story of his joining the project. The master of Turkish cinema, Uğur Yücel, appeared before the audience in the 15th episode, airing tonight, embodying the Babahan character, set to significantly influence the course of the narrative.
Uğur Yücel recounted his involvement in the project with his signature humor and sincerity: "I was having dinner with friends one evening. I had just returned from Munich and Nuremberg. We were discussing my enjoyable and fun trip to Germany. Then I said, 'I suddenly feel like going to Urfa.' One of them replied, 'Don't say that, now I want to go too.' The next day, I received a phone call with a guest acting offer for the series 'Halef: The Call of Roots'. It turned out the series was being filmed in Urfa, and the production was by my friends of 40 years, Gül and Mustafa Oğuz. I had one condition: 'If Mustafa Oğuz also comes to Urfa, I'll play.' And he came, and I played with great pleasure."
New behind-the-scenes photos shared from the set showcase how quickly Uğur Yücel adapted to the Urfa atmosphere and the weight the character of Babahan will bring to the story. The veteran actor also added words of praise for the crew: "The entire team is dedicated to their work and it's a fun environment on set. Everyone meets on set with enthusiasm. I hope they finish as they started. May their paths and minds be clear. Health and happiness to them all."
With Uğur Yücel's addition as Babahan, 'Halef: The Call of Roots' signals a shift in dynamics. This new development points to a critical turning point where characters will confront their pasts, significantly altering the story's trajectory. Viewers eagerly await to see how the series will unfold with Uğur Yücel's portrayal of Babahan.
