Protests by the Iranian public, sparked by economic problems, continue to escalate tensions in the country for the 16th day. Following these events, a post by famous artist Mahsun Kırmızıgül generated significant buzz on social media, leading to controversy. Kırmızıgül later reacted harshly to the negative and critical comments received on his posts, effectively expressing his outrage.
In his initial post regarding the events in Iran, Mahsun Kırmızıgül stated that he stands with the Iranian people and wishes for them to achieve a better standard of living. The artist expressed his thoughts by saying, "I love the Iranian people. I want them to live in a country where they decide their own lives, without fear, without oppression, and without struggling with poverty. It is wrong to use the name of God to oppress people based on Sharia law. Punishing in the name of God is exceeding human limits."
However, Kırmızıgül's post was criticized by some circles and led to various interpretations. Angered by comments on social media such as 'America is making them write this,' and 'Israel is making them write this,' Mahsun Kırmızıgül expressed his reaction in a second post. Kırmızıgül stated, "Some dishonorable people, shamelessly and without any remorse, have written again because of my post about Iran. They say 'America is making them write this,' 'Israel is making them write this.' It wasn't enough, and they also thought to say, 'He never wrote about Palestine.' What I have written about Palestine, and where I stand, is clear. Instead of criticizing us, look at those in this country who say 'Palestine' and 'Gaza' while serving the interests of America and Israel in the background." With this statement, Kırmızıgül took a firm stance against criticisms and defended his own position.
Mahsun Kırmızıgül is a well-known figure in Turkish music and cinema. The artist occasionally shares his views on social and political issues with his followers via social media. In Iran, widespread protests have been occurring in recent weeks due to economic hardships and public discontent with the government. It is reported that the death toll has increased during these protests, and internet disruptions in the country continue.
