Famous actor Can Yaman, who was taken into custody as part of a wide-ranging drug and prostitution investigation centered in Istanbul, has been released after his procedures at the police station. In a statement made via social media, Yaman described the allegations against him as baseless and announced his intention to return to Italy.
Simultaneous operations were carried out targeting entertainment venues under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. During the operations, a significant amount of narcotic substances, ammunition, and precision scales were seized. Within the scope of the investigation, a total of 7 suspects, including actors Can Yaman, Selen Görgüzel, Ayşe Sağlam, and Ceren Alper, were detained on charges such as possession of narcotics for use, facilitating drug use, and inciting or facilitating prostitution.
Following his release after questioning at the police station, Can Yaman made a post on his social media account, characterizing the events as an attack. Addressing the Italian press, Yaman stated that the 'usual attack' from the Turkish media was not new and emphasized that the accusations did not reflect reality. Yaman said, "Do you think I would be walking around with drugs at a time when the police are arresting many celebrities? If there were even the slightest truth to it, I wouldn't have been released so quickly and wouldn't be able to return to Italy the next day. I love you." With this statement, the actor announced his preparations to return to Rome.
