Actor Can Yaman, who was detained and later released as part of a drug operation targeting certain venues in Istanbul, has returned to Italy. Yaman, who garnered attention with a statement on his social media account, expressed his discontent regarding the attitude of the Turkish press.
Can Yaman, who continues his career in Italy, was detained last week at a venue during a drug operation in Istanbul. After his statement was taken, he was released. Immediately after leaving Turkey, Yaman took to social media to target the Turkish press. Yaman stated, "Dear Italian press, the Turkish press has always been malicious towards me, this is nothing new. But you, please don't! Please do not make the mistake of copy-pasting news from Istanbul," expressing his reaction.
Yaman denied allegations that he would be found with narcotics in venues during a period when the police were conducting extensive investigations and detaining numerous celebrities. He stated, "If there were even the slightest grain of truth to the claims, I wouldn't have been released so quickly and been able to return to Italy the next day." News about the police raids on nine different nightclubs in Istanbul over the weekend, with some celebrities, including Can Yaman, reportedly being detained, had found wide coverage in both the Turkish and Italian media. Yaman's statement serves as a warning, particularly towards the news coming from the Italian press.
