Barış Baktaş Responds to Criticism Over His Attitude Towards 'Kan Çiçekleri' Co-star Yağmur Yüksel: 'It Was a Joke!'

Following the finale of the TV series Kan Çiçekleri, behind-the-scenes footage released has sparked significant backlash on social media due to the alleged attitude of lead actor Barış Baktaş towards his co-star Yağmur Yüksel. Baktaş has broken his silence to address the accusations.

On-Set Banter Claims and Baktaş's Response

The behind-the-scenes clips from Kan Çiçekleri, which aired daily during the week and has now concluded, have captured viewers' attention. The alleged words spoken by Barış Baktaş to his partner Yağmur Yüksel, "Come on, you artist, come on," have drawn the ire of fans. This exchange, reportedly occurring during a scene at a horse farm, has garnered widespread attention online.

Barış Baktaş Emphasizes 'Misunderstanding'

In a statement released on his social media account, Barış Baktaş stated that the incident was a misunderstanding. Baktaş explained, "Today, many social media pages, without knowing the context before and after this video, have made posts containing statements contrary to my true nature based solely on a few seconds... The voice coming from behind during the horseback riding scene belonged to a friend from our crew whom I cherish. Although not malicious, he uses a phrase like 'pointless things' (this can be clearly heard in the video)."

Emphasis on On-Set Banter and Camaraderie

Baktaş emphasized that his own words were entirely a result of on-set banter and the camaraderie built over years. He stated, "My response, 'Come on, you artist, come on,' is entirely due to on-set joking and the familiarity developed over years. It is very clear and evident in the footage that I was looking behind me, not at my female co-star. These words were not, and cannot be, directed at any female colleague, whether visible in the frame or not! I do not accept a language devoid of respect, neither on set nor in my life. The camera angle shifted the joke to another place; the incident is entirely about this. We have always worked in an environment filled with laughter and respect on set. I wanted to clarify these misunderstandings on this occasion. Best regards..."
