Barış Baktaş Emphasizes 'Misunderstanding'

In a statement released on his social media account, Barış Baktaş stated that the incident was a misunderstanding. Baktaş explained, "Today, many social media pages, without knowing the context before and after this video, have made posts containing statements contrary to my true nature based solely on a few seconds... The voice coming from behind during the horseback riding scene belonged to a friend from our crew whom I cherish. Although not malicious, he uses a phrase like 'pointless things' (this can be clearly heard in the video)."

Emphasis on On-Set Banter and Camaraderie

Baktaş emphasized that his own words were entirely a result of on-set banter and the camaraderie built over years. He stated, "My response, 'Come on, you artist, come on,' is entirely due to on-set joking and the familiarity developed over years. It is very clear and evident in the footage that I was looking behind me, not at my female co-star. These words were not, and cannot be, directed at any female colleague, whether visible in the frame or not! I do not accept a language devoid of respect, neither on set nor in my life.
